Do you have your heart set on a white quinceanera dress? White quinceanera dresses go well with colorful quinceanera themes, because your dress will pop against the colorful decorations.
Or, perhaps you are looking for ivory, off-white, cream, soft pink or other very subtle colors. Is it ever ok for you to buy a dress that is technically a wedding dress if you find one that you really like? I say the answer is YES, and here is why: if there is a dress you absolutely love, it shouldn’t matter if the tag technically calls it a wedding dress.
White Quinceanera Dresses vs. White Wedding Dresses
Quinceaneras used to often wear white, and from what I’ve read, it was common to wear a wedding dress to your quince. The dress would be altered to fit the occasion: for example, the train of the dress would be removed. Now, it is popular to wear a very colorful dress to your quinceanera. And, sometimes you will even see a bride wear a quinceanera dresses for her wedding. So, at least in my humble opinion, it doesn’t matter if the dress is labeled as “quinceanera”, “wedding”, or even “prom”. If you love it, can afford it, and it is your dream quinceanera dress– go with it!
Just like with quinceanera dresses, wedding dresses come in all price ranges. You will enjoy a bigger selection of dresses to choose from if you include wedding and prom dresses in your dress search. I located some beautiful ball gowns that are technically wedding dresses, but could certainly be used for a quinceanera. I found dresses in all colors labeled as “wedding dresses” — further proof that the label really doesn’t matter~ 🙂
White quinceanera dresses that aren’t actually quince dresses at all! & other colors, too
When you search for quince dresses, you may find the perfect dress, only to realize it’s not even a quinceanera dress. There are many white quinceanera dresses that could pass for a wedding dress, and vice versa. Do you like any of the above styles, which are actually wedding dresses?
