If you are looking for a unique and nature-inspired quince theme, an Enchanted Forest quinceanera theme might be it! Especially if you are “outdoorsy” – or maybe you are planning to have your quinceanera outdoors.
What is an enchanted forest theme? Think: nature, trees, birds, flowers, strands of lights, forest creatures, candles or tea lights, butterflies, vines and flowy tulle. Turn your party into an magical, earthy event using some of my tips for an enchanted forest theme~
Create an Enchanted Forest Quinceanera
Color Scheme: Green is definitely a color that should be included in this theme. A few nice combinations are green and purple; green, blue and purple; green, gold and pink; and burgundy, gold and green. Of course you can change the colors to your preference.
Venue: A venue that is indoors/outdoors would be nice; an outdoor tent would also work well. It really depends on how the weather will be in your area for your quince. If your quince is during a rainy season, you will want a location where your guests will be covered in the event of a downpour. A barn venue would also work nicely with this natural-styled theme.
The Dress: Something very flowy would be nice, with a tulle skirt and some sparkle.
Quince Court: Keep your theme going by finding dresses for your damas that are also very light and flowy– tulle or organza are really great materials for this theme! Find the dama dresses in a color that complements your dress. If your damas wore white dresses, I think that would be super pretty!
Your chambelanes will look good in any color suit/tux for this theme: white, tan, grey, black. I like the idea of light grey for the slacks and jacket, and incorporate your colors for the shirt and tie (and cummerbund if using).
Invitations: Try to find an invitation design that will represent your enchanted forest theme. An invitation that features nature, trees, birds, butterflies or other earthy designs would work well. Some of the designs below are for weddings, but can very easily be customized into invitations for an enchanted forest quinceanera.
Decorations: The most important element for an enchanted forest quinceanera theme will be lots and LOTS of string lights. This will create the effect of a magical, starry sky. Collect as many white (clear) lights as you can and go overboard decorating your ceiling if your party is indoors. If your party is outdoors, string the lights between trees. You can also wrap the lights around trees, and place them under your table linens to light the tables up.
I think balloons are also important to help create this magical theme. You could use giant balloons that make a huge impact. Or you could use lots of traditional sized balloons and do something creative with them (such as the idea below!).
Here is a truly amazing DIY idea that I found on the PhotoSmashing Blog:
The next important decorating idea will be to use elements of nature as decorations. Fresh plants and flowers for centerpieces would be really nice. If that is out of the budget–definitely consider artificial plants and flowers. Stores like Michaels always have a huge selection of very realistic fake flowers that can be made into very decorations. Free Shipping on $50+ at Michaels.com
Another way to incorporate nature would be to create a paper flower wall. Find a paper flower tutorial, gather up the necessary supplies, and put family and friends to work making an awesome statement piece! Check out my Pinterest DIY board–there are MANY ideas on there that would work very well with an Enchanted Forest theme!
Finally, since this is a forest theme, you really cannot leave out the little critters! Find a way to incorporate little creatures into your decorating–a butterfly on an arrangement, a little fox next to the centerpiece, a group of birds sitting on the cake table. If you have the lighted deer that are used for Christmas decorating–or if you can borrow some– that would be super cute to place at the entrance of your party!
Have fun with this theme– every table does not have to be identical and little creature surprises here and there will really make your theme awesome! Click here for some more enchanted forest decorating ideas~
The Cake: There is a lot of inspiration for enchanted forest-style cakes on Pinterest. Many have leaves, flowers and little critters on them. Try decorating your cake table with string lights to complement your theme.
The Food: I think tea party type food would work well with this theme. Sandwiches, soup, fruit, vegetables, cheese and pasta salads. You could really serve any type of food you like–BBQ, birria, mole, posole, etc. A buffet style meal with a little bit of everything is always a hit.
Special Touches: Making a photo booth area for your guests is always a nice touch. You could also have a chocolate fountain–and call it your “chocolate waterfall”.
I hope you enjoyed this enchanted forest quinceanera theme! It is not a too-common or everyday theme and I think it would be very fun to put together. Do you have any more ideas for designing an enchanted forest theme?
