Butterfly Quince Theme
A butterfly quinceanera theme is a very meaningful theme to select for your quince. Butterflies are symbolic of transformation, and your quince anos celebrates your transformation into a young woman. Read on for some ideas for creating a butterfly themed quinceanera:
Creating a Butterfly Quinceanera theme
Color Scheme: This could be a very colorful quinceanera theme, or you could select two or three colors. Pink and purple, orange and pink and orange and yellow would work well. You could also go with two colors, but make some of the aspects of your party multi-colored–such as the cake or centerpieces.
Venue: A butterfly theme works well anywhere. If your reception is in a ballroom or another indoor venue, your party could be the “Butterfly Ball”. With an outdoor party, you could make the theme more of a “Butterfly Garden Party”.
Invitations: This is a great theme for invitations, because there are plenty of options out there for you! There are invitations with butterfly designs on them. You can also find butterfly quinceanera theme invitations with 3-D butterfly elements.
The Dress: You can find many dresses with butterfly embellishments and details. There are even extreme butterfly dresses, with butterfly print–or even dresses that literally look like a butterfly! There are many styles of tiara and jewelry that incorporate butterflies.
Quince Court: Try to find dama dresses with butterfly details that match your color scheme. If you go with a more plain dress, simply add a rhinestone butterfly belt to the dresses to make it extra cute. Also, butterfly earrings, bracelets, necklaces, hair pins are very easy to find, in all price ranges. White suits for the chambelanes would match a butterfly quinceanera theme well.
Decorations: This is a great theme to decorate for. There are not only a lot of options on the market for decorations, but also a large amount of DIY ideas as well. Make a balloon arch, and attach paper butterflies randomly to it. If you happen to own a Cricut–or know someone who does–making 3-d butterflies to spread around your fiesta will be a piece of cake!
Entertainment: This theme doesn’t really play into your entertainment– it’s really more of a visual theme. For your waltz, you can dance to “El Vals De Las Mariposas” by Jose Guardiola, which is a very popular waltz choice for quinceaneras.
Food: Set up a butterfly inspired candy station. Include butterfly gummy candies, butterfly shaped lollipops, butterfly shaped cookies and mini butterfly sweet tarts. Traditional quince food, a buffet, or sit down dinner will all go nicely with a butterfly quinceanera theme.
The Cake: 3-D butterflies on your cake = perfection! There are many beautiful examples on Google and Pinterest. Butterfly cupcakes and butterfly cake pops would also be a nice alternative to a traditional cake.
Party Favors: For party favors, there are many options with this theme. Try finding boxes with butterfly adornments, and fill with mints, candies, etc. A DIY option: wrap a ribbon around a candle. Attach a 3-d butterfly tag to the ribbon using hot glue. You could also use a butterfly stamp to dress up a plain favor box.
Special Touches: Instead of using a traditional guest book, make a “tree” with paper butterflies for your guests to sign. A face painter to paint butterflies on guests–young and old!–would be a really sweet touch!
A butterfly cage with a live butterfly or two would be amazing. Buy your butterflies locally to avoid the risk of dealing with a company that may ship your butterflies in a cruel/harsh manner. If you plan to do a butterfly release, make sure to research how do do it in a safe way for your butterflies 🙂
