A yellow quinceanera has to be one of my favorite ideas for a quince.
Yellow is such a pretty, bright and happy color– it is just perfect for a Spring or Summer quinceanera! It also is somewhat uncommon- compared to more popular colors such as pink, purple and blue. There are many different color schemes you can design with this theme (see below).
Here are some ideas, dresses, decorations and more for a yellow quinceanera:
Color Scheme: Make yellow your main color and add accents of gold, white, or maybe silver. You could also use 2, 3 or 4 shades of yellow and do something like a yellow ombre! Yellow also looks wonderful with leopard print, chevron print or zebra. I have to say, out of all of these options, I really love the yellow and white combination– it is very fresh, happy and super pretty.
Invitations: It will definitely be a must to locate some yellow invitations, maybe even with a yellow envelope. You could also use yellow postage or yellow stickers to seal your envelopes.
The Dress: This will be very fun to find! Yellow dresses are not as common as some other colors– but your yellow dress is definitely going to make a statement! If you select, for example, yellow and gold for your colors, you can make you accessories all gold, including your shoes.
Quince Court: Work your colors into the outfits for your court so that it complements your dress. So, if you go with yellow and gold, you could make your dress yellow and your damas gold. Your chambelanes could wear tan pants or suits with yellow shirts. Or, the guys could wear white shirts with yellow bow ties (this would be super cute!).
Decorations: Here are a couple ideas for yellow decorations: yellow roses, yellow tulips, sunflowers, daisies, yellow balloons, yellow lighting, yellow table linens, yellow chair covers or sashes, and yellow candles.
A great place to find decorations for a yellow quince, (or any quince really!) is Koyal Wholesale . They have an absolutely AMAZING variety of colors for their decorations. You can search by color, and will find a large variety of various shades of yellow decorations.
Food: Any food goes with a yellow quinceanera. I think some delicate foods like sandwiches, fruit salads and vegetables would be appropriate. It would be interesting to have a small buffet table set up with all yellow food: bananas, lemon pudding, lemon taffy, cupcakes with yellow frosting, pineapple and so on.
Cake: A yellow quinceanera will definitely need a beautiful yellow cake (or cake pops, cupcakes, etc). I found some really nice examples of yellow cakes and added them to our Yellow Quinceanera Pinterest board.
Favors: How about a yellow candy buffet? This would be fun for your guests and can double as party favors. If your color scheme is yellow and white, it will be simple to find great candy in your colors. For more info on candy buffets see my post here.
A yellow quinceanera is simple but strikingly pretty! I think it works especially well with a Spring or Summer quince. If you are planning a yellow quinceanera, what color or print will you use with yellow for your colors?
